Supercard DSTWO has released the firmware fix for Nintendo 3DS 2.2.0-4. Please follow the upgrade guide to upgrade your 3DS and enjoy the ultimate fun brought by the card.

1. Find a DS or DS Lite console. (Borrow from friends, classmates, colleagues or game store).

2. Download the Firmware_v1.13 and DSTWO_v1.11_1108 to the MicroSD. Make sure to put the following files and folder onto the root of the Micro SD/ SDHC card.

3. Turn on the DS or DSLite power, system will auto detect firmware 1.13.When you see the screen with words "Update system Beta 1.13 – 1.13", please press the button A to start the upgrade.

4. Then please wait for a moment. When it's done, you can see the words "upgrade successfully"!

5. DSTWO can work with 3DS with firmware version 2.2.0-4 right now.

Note: Please make sure that the console is fully charged during the upgrade.

How to Tell the Nintendo 3DS System’s Firmware Version

Checking which firmware version or menu version of your 3DS has is as easy as ABC:

Select the System Settings icon on the HOME Menu, and tap "Open."
The system's menu version will be displayed on the bottom right of the upper screen.

Almost all new 3DS firmware claim to have system stability improvements and other adjustments. What that really means is that the 3DS new firmware will block flashcarts such as R4 3DS and R4i. If you would like to keep your R4 and / or R4i to be usable on your 3DS, the best option is to disable the 3DS wifi function.

R4 3DS Blocked by Nintendo 3DS Firmware 2.1.0-4J, 2.1.0-4E & 2.1.0-4U

On July 26, 2011, 3DS network rolled out the fourth firmware upgrade since the 3DS debut in Feb 2011. Looking at the firmware update history of the 3DS, it seems that the trend going forward is frequent firmware update on a monthly basis.

3DS firmware update history:

2.1.0-3 released on Jun 16 2011

2.0.0-2 released on Jun 07 2011

1.1.0-1 released on Mar 02 2011

It is interesting to note that gamers may have not been happy with such a firmware update plan and posted on wikipedia, asking for an update of 2.2.0-0 firmware with the long-anticipated function of 3DS 3D Video Recording.

The following is the announcement by Nintendo Japan on the firmware update:

IMPORTANT: Your Nintendo 3DS System and software are not designed for use with any existing or future unauthorised technical modification of the hardware or software or the use of any unauthorised device (R4 3DS) in connection with your Nintendo 3DS System. After the Nintendo 3DS System or any software is updated, any existing or future unauthorised technical modification of the hardware or software of your Nintendo 3DS System, or the use of any unauthorised device in connection with your Nintendo 3DS System, may render your Nintendo 3DS System permanently unplayable. Content deriving from the unauthorised technical modification of the hardware or software of your Nintendo 3DS System may be removed.

If your system software version is 2.0.0-2E or later, Nintendo 3DS system updates will be received automatically when a wireless internet connection is available. When the download is complete, a message will appear on the HOME Menu detailing the steps to take in order to start installing the system update.

To update your system, please follow the steps below:

1. Open the System Settings from the HOME Menu.

2. Select OTHER SETTINGS.

3. Scroll to the right and select SYSTEM UPDATE.

Please note that a wireless internet connection is required in order to update.

Currently the latest version you can use is 2.1.0-4E.

Nintendo 3DS: How to Disable Wireless / Wifi Communication on

Keep your R4i 3DS alive by disabling the 3DS Wifi function.

Enable and Disable the Wireless / Wifi connection on the Nintendo 3DS are quite straightforward.

Disabling the Wifi:

Push the wireless switch on the right side of the Nintendo 3DS down.
Verify that the wireless LED is off.

Enabling the Wifi:

Push the wireless switch on the right side of the Nintendo 3DS up.
Verify that the wireless LED is on.

R4i Gold 3DS (r4ids.cn): ‘An error has occurred’ on Nintendo DSi XL /DSi v1.4.3x

Most users reflected that their R4i Gold 3DS (r4ids.cn) does not work with v1.4.3 on the DSi / DSi XL regardless of installing the latest driver Wood V1.33.

The error message displayed is:

An error has occurred. Press and hold the POWER Button to turn the system off. Please refer to the Nintendo DSi Operations Manual for details.

Here's the simple way to solve the aforementioned problem. Again only R4i Gold 3DS cards work well on DSi / DSi XL v 1.4.3, but other non-3DS R4i Gold cards won't.

First, check the R4i Gold 3DS (r4ids.cn).

1. if your card's PCB get a digital "6" on, it's a R4i Gold 3DS card, otherwise it's R4i Gold card (non-3DS) .

2. If insert the R4i Gold 3DS (r4ids.cn) with the latest driver wood v1.33 to the DSi / DSi XL, you get the MEET THE ROBINSONS DISNEY. That means your card is not yet compatible with the DSi / DSi XL v1.4.3. You need to upgrade the card first in a DS Lite or DSi / DSi XL with firmware version lower than 1.4.3.

If your R4i Gold 3DS (r4ids.cn) The card you sold me came with the Meet the Robinsons icon, which does not work with 1.4.3 on the XL regardless of the update to Wood 1.33, meaning that your wording on your website is incorrect it would seem.

I managed to find the r4i 3ds gold 1.4.2c update which changed the bootloader from Meet the Robinsons to Spongebob, and I can confirm that the card now works on my 1.4.3e DSi XL using the Spongebob loader.

Acekard 2i Firmware Error Message

Recently, we have been asked by quite a few users the following question:

I ordered this acekard 2i and after installing the firmware on to my micro sd card i insereted it into my dsi xl and it came up with the "danny phantom
urban jungle THQ" icon. When i selected the game icon it said the following message "An error has occured. Press and hold the POWER button to turn the system off. Please refer to the Nintendo Dsi Operations manual for details" What can i do about this as the micro sd card card works fine in my other acekard 2i which brings up the Chessmaster icon upon loading up.

The message ''An error has occurred'' is a typical message which many users have encountered on their DSi, DSi XL, 3DS and Wii. It happens when either a blocked modchip or flashcart is detected by the console. As for the Acekard 2i, the solution to the error is quite straightforward. It involves flashing the Acekard 2i with the latest firmware fix so that it works with the DSi or 3DS firmware which blocks the Acekard 2i.

Preparation (Checklist Before Installation)

Hardware

1 x DS / DS Lite / DSi / DSi XL / 3DS

A DSi console with firmware lower than 1.4.2 (1.4.2E, 1.4.2J, 1.4.2U & 1.4.2A)
If you don’t have a DSi with firmware lower than 1.4.2, you have to use a DS Lite console.

1 x Acekard 2i Card
1 x USB Reader
1 x Micro SD/SDHC Memory Card

Software (Please Click the Driver / Firmware Name for the Latest Download)

Note:

AKAIO is the popular unofficial driver for Acekard and its updates are much more frequent than the official one.

Acekard 2i Firmware Fix For 3DS v2.0 & DSi v1.4.2

Important: if you want to update you AceKard 2i to be compatible with Nintendo 3DS v2.0 and DSi firmware version v 1.4.2, you need a DSi (XL) console is having a firmware version lower than 1.4.1 or a DS Lite console . Please take note, the firmware is different from the driver.

We recommend backup your files and use the professional tool to format your MicroSD card before update AKAIO if you have any trouble when using AKAIO.

To Check Your DSi Firmware Version:

Click SETTING (with the Tool Icon) on the main menu
Check the right hand corner of the top screen which says VER 1.x

Plug your DS console to the wall to make sure that the DS console power supply will not be interrupted during the firmware upgrade process.
Download the official driver (AKAIO.1.8.7 )and firmware (ak2ifw_update_3ds_v2_DSi142).
Unzip the files downloaded (using Winrar) on your PC.
1. Winrar can be downloaded from www.download.com by searching for Winrar at the Search.
2. Unzip the files mentioned under the Software Preparation above, you will get:

If you have multiple Acekard 2i cards that you wish to update all in a row, run on the DS Lite console using ak2ifw_update_3ds_v1_DSL.nds
Now copy the all the above files to the root folder of the Micro SD /SDHC memory card.
Plug in the Micro SD/SDHC to the Acekard 2i and insert the Acekard 2i to the DS Lite console.
Select the Micro SD/SDHC Card icon on the main operating system
Select the firmware file by pressing A on the right hand side control pad.
1. For DSi: ak2ifw_update_3ds_v2_DSi.nds
2. For DS Lite : ak2ifw_update_3ds_v2_DSL.nds
When you see the following, please follow the instruction to eject the card and insert it again. Then press B to continue.
You will be prompted if you want to update the firmware as follows:
Press Start on the DS to continue.
The following screen shows that the update is 40% done.
The following screen shows that the update has been completed. Congratulation! Restart your DS now.
The Acekard icon on the main menu has been changed to the following icon. The icon means you have upgraded the Acekard 2i Firmware successfully.
