Running Lameboy .9 (Gameboy/GBC Emulator) on R4DS (How To)

September 5th, 2010 Filed Under R4DS

FIRST THINGS FIRST. (“where’s your shitter?”) LAMEBOY ONLY PLAYS ORIGINAL GAMEBOY GAMES. YOU CANNOT PLAY GBA GAMES WITHOUT A SLOT 2 DEVICE. Once again: Lameboy CANNOT play GBA games! file: gbatemp.net it’s incredibly easy to get it to run, and the sound is perfect, in the video it sounds kinda choppy. TO SAVE: I figured out how this works. I’ll use pokemon as an example (for games that have autosave, you just need to press x). Save via the “save” option in the menu. Then, save with the X button. What happens is that you save the game via the actual way first, which registers it in the actual game. THEN svaing it via the x button saves it at the last part you saved the game normally at. So, say you save using the menu in Ekruteak City, then you get to the Elite Four and save with only the x button, and quit. Next time you open the game, you’ll be at Ekruteak City, not the E4 because the system saved it as having EC as your last save point. You don’t need to worry about this for auto save games because they’re constantly saving. If this helped at all, please comment :)

Hmm… I really don’t understand how either of these (game or emulator) could have caused your R4 to become unrecognizable by your PC. Maybe just keep re-trying, and try plugging in different things first (SD into connector, then to PC, or connector to PC, then put in the micro SD?) that seems to solve the problems my comp has recognizing stuff.

I’m not accusing you of anything but
Before I downloaded this my R4 worked fine
I downloaded a gbc game and it didn’t work.
I then realized that this was probably because I had not put the file into lameboy just the r4.
I then went back to my computer to do this, but the micro SD USB conetor would not conect to my computer, even though it had before.
but the R4 still works on the actual DS
If you know any way to fix the please post a reply that would be really helpful
    and thanks for the emulator

Actually the GBA games can be playable on R4 Revolution for DS, but you need to buy a EZ-FLASH V 3 in 1 or any other kind, as long as it’s a GBA cartridge

@TheGospelbug thats because its game boy and gameboy color not Gba….the R4 cant run GBA games, u need a RAM Slot-2 card which u can get on the internet for really cheap US Dollars. Or a more basic version would be, the R4 doesnt have enough power to run GBA games so you need a power card that can go into the gba slot of your NDSL or NDS
