Here are three tips for people whose R4DS cards often get stuck on loading screen. Just follow it and solve your problems by yourself.

1)If your R4 card get stuck on the “Loading…” screen when you first boot it up. And no matter how many times you copy the firmware over, it is still the same thing. As this happens,  you are most likely to have installed the official R4 firmware on a clone card. So check it at first.

2)If your R4DS supports SDHC, and the chances are that you must have a counterfeit, or a R4 clone one. Do not worry about it, it is still possible for you to get it going. The problem is that the original R4DS used an encrypted firmware which the clones can not read.

3) As the two problems above happens, the first thing you need to do is to check the box that comes with it. Usually the R4 clone makers list their own particular websites on the boxes. That is the site you will download your firmware from. If your card does not come with a box, you can check which kind the R4 you own is. The companies that produce R4 clones always use many different names for their particular R4 clone, such as R4DS SDHC, R4-III, R4 Deluxe, R4 Advance etc etc.

Even though these clone makers or some of their sellers and users would like you to believe that they are official R4 team products that they are not actually. Each one uses a hacked firmware for that particular card. Using a firmware from one clone on another will usually result in a “This card is fake” message, which is actually pretty amusing as ALL of them are fakes!  So make sure you are using the correct one or you will have more similar problems again.
