Hardware

1 x DS Lite / DSi / DSi XL with firmware lower than 1.4.3 or a 3DS with firmware lower than 2.1.0.
1 x EZ Flash Vi (Slot 1)
1 x USB Reader
1 x Micro SD/SDHC Memory Card

To Check your DSi Firmware Version:

• Click SETTING (with the Tool Icon) on the main menu
• Check the right hand corner of the top screen which says VER 1.x

Installation

Note: When upgrading the EZ Flash Vi card, it is not allowed to turn off power or pull out the card; otherwise the card will be damaged.

1. Format your MicroSD card.
2. Download the latest driver 3.0 OB6 and firmware EZ5F106A.
3. Unzip the file downloaded on your PC, you will have files as below.

4. Select all the above unzipped files and copy them to the root of the MicroSD memory card.
5. Plug in the Micro SD card to the EZ Flash Vi. Insert the EZ Flash Vi with the MicroSD card into the slot 1 of the DS console. Turn on the DS console.

a.  For DS & DS Lite, you will see the WARNING – HEALTH AND SAFETY message. Please touch the touch screen or press button A to continue.      

b.  For DSi or DSi XL, an icon with the message “Tak The Great Juju Challenge THQ” above it will appear. Please touch the icon or press button A to continue.

6. Wait for the EZ Flash Vi to load.

7. When you see this menu, please select  " ez5F106.nds " and press A to continue. 

8. Then you will see the message "Welcome to EZFlash Vi firmware upgrader, Please make sure your console is under good battery condition. Do Not powever off or pull out cartridge when updating the firmware. Hardware VER [805] FirmVer [105] (current firmware Version of your EZFlash Vi, it can be [104]\[103],etc.). Please press Y to continue.

9. Next, the console will tell you the current firmware version of your EZ Flash Vi. If it's 105, or any version lower than 106, then please press A to continue.

10.  Waiting EZ Flash Vi to upgrade. When you see the message "Upgrade successfully. Please power off and restart the console to make the new firmware take effect! DSi users requirs a long shutdown by power button", that means you have upgraded the firmware successfully. Please restart the console.

11. The icon on the main menu has been changed to the following icon. The icon means you have upgraded the EZ Flash Vi Firmware successfully. Please enjoy yourself.
