R4i SDHC 3DS has been confirmed to be working for the V3.0.0-6 automatically as long as your R4i Gold 3DS card support 3DS v2.2.0-4.

Note:

• All machines are upgradeable even your machine has already been in firmware 3.0.0-5 or 1.4.3. And no need to find another bootable machine to perform the upgrading process. 
• Risk-free: flash card will not be damaged even the upgrading process is not successfully.
   

1. Unzip the firmware ( F_CORE_v3.0.5 ) and driver ( G6&M3DS-R_M74) downloaded (using Winrar) on your PC
   • Winrar can be downloaded from www.download.com by searching for Winrar at the Search.
   • Unzip the files mentioned under the Software Preparation above, you will have one folder and one file as follows.
     

     F_CORE_v3.0.5	G6&M3DS-R_M74
     F_CORE.DAT	SYSTEM

      

2. Select all the two unzipped files and copy them to the root of microSD / SDHC memory card after you have formatted the micro SD / SDHC card in FAT32.

   
    

3. Insert Micro SD/SDHC card into the M3i
    
    
4. Put the upgrade cable into the M3i. The shinny metal contact of the cable, i.e. the side with the ARROW on it, should face the BACK of the M3i.
   
    
5. Plug the USB port into your PC, or anything that has a port that will give it power
    
6. The M3i should blink for about 15~20 seconds. After it stops blinking, your M3i is flashed.

 Note:

LED blinks – in progress
LED lights off – no power or incomplete
LED lights on – error (no "f_core.dat" or wrong file etc.)

If the LED light turns RED (without flashing), it means the update is unsuccessful. Please repeat the whole process from step 1 after you have checked the Possible Reasons For Upgrade Failure listed belowfollowing:

• Put the upgrade file into sub directory, not the root directory, and the firmware writer can not detect the upgrade file. 
• USB port can not provide a stable power, please change a stable USB port.
• There are too many disk defragments in the MicroSD memory card, which needs to be formatted before upgrade. For memory card formatting, please refer to the guide under Format a MicroSD / SDHC card above.

Important: if you want to update you DSONEi mini to be compatible with 3DS 3.0.0-5, you will need to use a DS Lite console or a DSi / DSi XL console with firmware version lower than 1.4.3 or 3DS with firmware version lower than 2.2.0-4 to do the update. Please take note, the firmware is different from the driver.

1. Unzip the file downloaded (using Winrar) on your PC

• Winrar can be downloaded from www.download.com by searching for Winrar at the Search.
• Unzip the files mentioned under the Software Preparation above, you will have:

2. Select all the above four unzipped files and simply drag them onto the root of the micro SD / SDHC card after you have formatted the SD / SDHC card in FAT 32.

3. Plug in the Micro SD / SDHC to the Supercard DSONEi Mini. Insert the Supercard DSONEi mini with the micro SD / SDHC into the slot 1 of the DS console. Turn on the DS console.

4. Select the “dsonei_upd” icon on the main operating system

5. When you see the following, please follow the instruction to press B to continue.

6. The following screen shows that the update has started. It will erase the data first before writing the data.

7. The following screen shows that the update has been completed. Congratulation! Restart your DS now.

8. Once the upgrade is done, the icon will change into the following one.

1. Insert SD/SDHC Memory Card into reader/writer.
2. Click on [Start], point to [All Programs] -> [Panasonic] -> [SD Formatter VX.X], and click on [SD Formatter VX.X].
   “X.X” means the version number of SD Memory Card Formatting Software.
   If “User Account Control” window is displayed on the screen, please click on [Arrow].
3. The main window is displayed on the screen.
4. Select the target drive by drive list and check SD/SDHC Memory Card size.
5. Click on [Format].
6. After clicking on it, confirmation window is displayed on the screen. Here, if [OK] is clicked, this software executes the format operation. On the contrary, if [Cancel] is clicked, this software cancels the format operation and returns to the main window.
7. The following status window is displayed on the screen during the format operation.
   Note: [Cancel] on this window is available only if either “FULL (Erase ON)” or “FULL (Erase OFF)” is selected as format type option. If “QUICK” is selected as format type option, this button is not available.
8. After the format operation completion, click [OK] and remove the Memory Card from your PC.
9. Reinsert the memory card to the PC to start using the memory card.

Using Mac Memory Card Format Tool

1. Plug your memory card reader into a USB port on your Mac. Insert the microSD / microSDHC card into the memory card reader's microSD / microSDHC slot, and the microSD / microSDHC card will mount on your Mac desktop.
2. In an open Finder window, single-click "Applications" in the Side-Bar and scroll down to find the Utilities folder. Find Disk Utility in the Utilities folder and double-click the "Disk Utility" application to launch it.
3. In the opened Disk Utility application, single-click to select the microSD / microSDHC card in the left-hand Drives column. Then, single-click to select the "Erase" button in the top row of radio buttons. Select the format MS-DOS (FAT) to format the microSD / microSDHC card on the "Volume Format" pop-up button.  When you have finished selecting the formatting options, click "Erase."
4. A new dialogue box will pop up in "Disk Utility," asking if you are sure you wish to erase the microSD / microSDHC card. Caution: Erasing the microSD / microSDHC card will permanently erase any files. Make sure you have backed up any file you wish to keep. To continue with the formatting process, click "Erase."
5. Once the microSD / microSDHC card has been erased, it will mount on your Mac desktop just as any other removable drive.

The PS amaze break PS3 mod chip has a piece of homebrew software that you load up and will create backups of your original games onto the hard drive, be it the internal one in your console or an external USB one you can hook up, being the PS3 hard drives are quite small the feature of being able to use an external hard drive is great, because you can get a 3.5” 1TB drive quite cheap these days and this would be the best way to go, this will leave your internal hard drive for normal use and once again won’t wear it out. This little homebrew backup manager program is extremely easy to use and fast, the speed that it can backup most games is amazing, some games can be done in a matter of minutes while others can take an hour, it all depends on the size of the game. The interface for the backup manager is nice and we are sure they will improve upon it over he coming months.

Note that your PS3 console will need to be updated to 3.41 for the PS amaze break PS3 Modchip to function correctly, they have been optimized for this firmware version and if you are not running it you should either update your PS3 online or go to the Sony website and download their 3.41 firmware onto a USB flash drive and update your console. The best way would be to use the USB flash drive as it’s quite fast. Running the PS amaze break PS3 mod chip on an earlier firmware can cause erratic behavior, for example our test machine here would not boot with the dongle plugged in until we updated to the latest 3.41 firmware. Another thing to remember when using the PS amaze break is that to play your games off the hard drive you will need to leave one of your original games in the console, not a big problem but just something to remember. The official PS amaze break website will have full manuals for using the device, as well as firmware updates and troubleshooting guides.

Something else that has been promised is the PS amaze break mod chip will be firmware updateable, so not only will there be updates to their backup manager homebrew software, but there will be core updates for the PS amaze break device itself, this ensures that bugs found can be addressed in a firmware update for the dongle device itself. The PS amaze break will disable your console from doing automatic updates after installed, this is to prevent any newer firmwares released for the console that could interfere with the way the product works.

While the PS amaze break PS3 modchip does allow you to make backups of your original Bluray PS3 games and launch 3rd party applications, it does not allow you to make backups of bluray movies, dvd movies or past Playstation games such as 1 & 2, but with saying that all that most of us want is to be able to take advantage of the homebrew software that will be developed that this device can boot and to make legitimate backups of all our original games onto a hard drive for ease of loading and storage, no more scatted game covers everywhere, no more will the kids scratch and wreak valuable original game discs, and the life of the consoles laser will be significantly increased, as we all know PS3 lasers aren’t cheap especially on the old 60GB units, so there is so many positives to the new PS amaze break PS3 modchip and sure more to come with the PS3 homebrew community
