Please follow the R4i Gold 3DS Driver Setup Guide to setup the card first. 

If you get the error message like this :

An error has occured. Press and hold the POWER Button to turn the system off. Please refer to the Nintendo DSi Operations Manual for details.

Please check the firmware version of your DSi or 3DS according to these two steps:

• Click SETTING (with the Tool Icon) on the main menu
• Check the right hand corner of the top screen which says VER 1.x.x

DS Compatibility

The following consoles are supported: DS, DS Lite, DSi, DSi XL & 3DS.

For DSi & DSi XL, the supported firmware versions are: 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 1.4,  1.4.1 , 1.4.2 & 1.4.3.

Using Panasonic Memory Card Format Software

Note: If your memory cards have capacity bigger than 32GB, please download the SD/SDHC/SDXC Memory Cards Format Software. If your memory cards have capacity equal or smaller than 32GB, please download the SD/SDHC Memory Cards Format Software. Detailed guide is available from the SD Association here. 1. Insert SD/SDHC Memory Card into reader/writer.
2. Click on [Start], point to [All Programs] -> [Panasonic] -> [SD Formatter VX.X], and click on [SD Formatter VX.X].
   1. “X.X” means the version number of SD Memory Card Formatting Software.
   2. If “User Account Control” window is displayed on the screen, please click on [Arrow].
3. The main window is displayed on the screen.
4. Select the target drive by drive list and check SD/SDHC Memory Card size.
5. Click on [Format].
6. After clicking on it, confirmation window is displayed on the screen. Here, if [OK] is clicked, this software executes the format operation. On the contrary, if [Cancel] is clicked, this software cancels the format operation and returns to the main window.
7. The following status window is displayed on the screen during the format operation. Note: [Cancel] on this window is available only if either “FULL (Erase ON)” or “FULL (Erase OFF)” is selected as format type option. If “QUICK” is selected as format type option, this button is not available.
8. After the format operation completion, click [OK] and remove the Memory Card from your PC.
9. Reinsert the memory card to the PC to start using the memory card.

Using Mac Memory Card Format Tool

1. Plug your memory card reader into a USB port on your Mac. Insert the microSD / microSDHC card into the memory card reader's microSD / microSDHC slot, and the microSD / microSDHC card will mount on your Mac desktop.
2. In an open Finder window, single-click "Applications" in the Side-Bar and scroll down to find the Utilities folder. Find Disk Utility in the Utilities folder and double-click the "Disk Utility" application to launch it.
3. In the opened Disk Utility application, single-click to select the microSD / microSDHC card in the left-hand Drives column. Then, single-click to select the "Erase" button in the top row of radio buttons. Select the format MS-DOS (FAT) to format the microSD / microSDHC card on the "Volume Format" pop-up button.  When you have finished selecting the formatting options, click "Erase."
4. A new dialogue box will pop up in "Disk Utility," asking if you are sure you wish to erase the microSD / microSDHC card. Caution: Erasing the microSD / microSDHC card will permanently erase any files. Make sure you have backed up any file you wish to keep. To continue with the formatting process, click "Erase."
5. Once the microSD / microSDHC card has been erased, it will mount on your Mac desktop just as any other removable drive.

R4i Gold 3DS Firmware Fix for 3DS V3.0.0-6E

Great news! R4i Gold 3DS can support the newest 3DS 3.0.0-6E successfully!

Please take note that the upgrade for 3DS V3.0.0-6 needs to be done on DSi / DSi XL console with a firmware version 1.4.3 or below. 

 

1. Unzip the file downloaded (using Winrar) on your PC

a. Winrar can be downloaded from www.download.com by searching for Winrar at the Search.

b. Unzip the files mentioned under the Software Preparation above, you will have

 

R4iGold_3DS2.2_Patch	Wood_R4iGold_V1.40b
3DS22Patch_R4iGold3DS_NDSi.nds 3DS22Patch_R4iGold3DS_NDSL.nds  readme.txt	__rpg _DS_MENU.DAT changelog.txt readme.txt

 

2. Copy all the above seven unzipped files onto the root of the micro SD/SDHC card after format the micro SD card in FAT32.

 

3. Plug in the Micro SD/SDHC card to the R4i Gold 3DS card. Insert the R4i Gold with the micro SD/SDHC into the slot 1 of the DS console. Turn on the DS console.

 

4. Select the icon on your console below 

  

 

          

 

5. Select the correspondent firmware file by pressing A.

    For DSi (XL): 3DS22Patch_R4iGold3DS_NDSi.nds

 

 

6. When you get the following screen, please read every word carefully before upgrading. 

 

7. Please press button A to continue and leave the console alone in a flat place until the upgrade is done.

 

8. The following screen shows that The R4i Gold 3DS card has been upgraded successfully. 

 

9. Once the update is finished, you can use the R4i Gold 3DS card with the same micro SD card on your 3DS 3.0.0-6e to test if the card has been updated successfully.

Great news! R4i Gold 3DS can support the newest DSi V1.4.3 successfully!
Important: if you want to update you R4i Gold 3DS card on your DSi / DSi XL with firmware 1.4.3, you need a DSi (XL) console with a firmware version 1.4.1. 

1. Unzip the file downloaded (using Winrar) on your PC

a. Winrar can be downloaded from www.download.com by searching for Winrar at the Search.

b. Unzip the files mentioned under the Software Preparation above, you will have

V143_Patch_R4iGold_3DS	Wood_R4iGold_V1.36

2. Copy all the above eight unzipped files to the root of the micro SD/SDHC memory card.

3. Plug in the Micro SD/SDHC to the R4i Gold. Insert the R4i Gold with the microSD/SDHC into the slot 1 of the DS console. Turn on the DS console.

• If you can see the following after you insert the R4i Gold 3DS into the slot-1 of the DSi, that means the R4i Gold 3DS has not been flashed yet. Please follow Step 4 to go on the upgrading.
   

 

• If you can see the following icon, good news for you. Your R4i Gold 3DS has been flashed. Please copy your own data to the Micro SD/SDHC memory card and enjoy the ultimate fun brought by R4i Gold 3DS.

 

4. Select the correspondent firmware file by pressing A.

For DSi (XL): V143_Patch_R4iGold3DS_NDSi.nds

5. When you get the following screen, please read every word carefully before upgrading. 

6. Please press button A to continue and leave the console alone in a flat place until the upgrade is done.

7. The following screen shows that The R4i Gold 3DS card has been upgraded successfully. Congratulation! Please restart the DSi / DSi XL now. 

8. The icon on the main menu has been changed to the following icon. The icon means you have upgraded the R4i Gold 3DS Firmware successfully.

1. Unzip the file downloaded (using Winrar) on your PC
   1. Winrar can be downloaded from www.download.com by searching for Winrar at the Search.
   2. Unzip the files mentioned under the Software Preparation above, you will have ：

2. Select all the above four unzipped files and copy them to the microSD memory card 
    
3. Copy your own files, including music, movies, pictures and other data to the Micro SD/SDHC memory card.
    
4. Plug in the Micro SD/SDHC to the R4i Gold. Insert the R4i Gold with the microSD into the slot 1 of the DS console. Turn on the DS console.
    
5. You will see the WARNING – HEALTH AND SAFETY message. Touch the touch screen or press button A to continue.
   
    
6. For DSi or DSi XL, you will see the following icon with the name MEET THE ROBINSONS DISNEY. Please touch the icon or press button A to continue.
   
    
7. Wait for the R4i Gold to load.
   
    
8. Congratulation if you have come this far as you have successfully set up your R4i Gold. There you go. Enjoy your DS with the multimedia functions.
   
   
9. If the screen is stuck with the ‘Loading’message, it is due to the wrong driver being used. Please check the Software Preparation at the top of this guide and re-do the software download & installation.

2. Select all the above fives unzipped files and copy them to the microSD memory card

4. Plug in the Micro SD/SDHC to the Supercard DSTWO. Insert the EZ Flash Vi with the microSD into the slot 1 of the DS console. Turn on the DS console.   
    
5. For DS & DS Lite , you will see the WARNING – HEALTH AND SAFETY message. Please touch the touch screen or press button A to continue.

   

    

6. For DSi or DSi XL, Tak The Great Juju Challenge THQ. Please touch the icon or press button A to continue.

   

    

7. Wait for the EZ Flash Vi to load.

• One workable flashcart

2.Download white screen fix software and the latest kernel by clicking the links. Unzip the two patches and you will get:

3.Copy the five unzipped files onto the root of micro SD/SDHC card after you have formatted the micro SD / SDHC card in FAT32.

 

4.Plug-in the any workable flash cart to NDSL

 

    

 

5.Go-to the “GAMES” menu

 

   

   

6.Execute the “FixWhiteScreen3dsv30”, screen below will pop-up

 

   

 

7.Do not shut down the power of the console. Replace the working flashcart with the problem r4i-sdhc white screen flashcart. Then press button   “A” to start repairing. 

 Attention: Do not insert micro SD card to the problem r4i-sdhc white screen flash cart during upgrading.

 

 

 

8.Repairing program start, makes sure NDSL console has enough power, and do not remove the flashcart during repairing process

   

   

 

9.After couples minutes of waiting, once repairing done, use the v1.50b kernel to run 3DS V3.

DS Compatibility

The following consoles are supported: DS, DS Lite, DSi , DSi XL & 3DS.

For DSi & DSi XL, the supported firmware versions are: 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 1.4.1, 1.4.2 & 1.4.3

Using Panasonic Memory Card Format Software

Note:
If your memory cards have capacity bigger than 32GB, please download the SD/SDHC/SDXC Memory Cards Format Software.
If your memory cards have capacity equal or smaller than 32GB, please download the SD/SDHC Memory Cards Format Software.

1. Insert SD/SDHC Memory Card into reader/writer.
2. Click on [Start], point to [All Programs] -> [Panasonic] -> [SD Formatter VX.X], and click on [SD Formatter VX.X].
   • “X.X” means the version number of SD Memory Card Formatting Software.
   • If “User Account Control” window is displayed on the screen, please click on [Arrow].
3. The main window is displayed on the screen.
4. Select the target drive by drive list and check SD/SDHC Memory Card size.
5. Click on [Format].
6. After clicking on it, confirmation window is displayed on the screen. Here, if [OK] is clicked, this software executes the format operation. On the contrary, if [Cancel] is clicked, this software cancels the format operation and returns to the main window.
7. The following status window is displayed on the screen during the format operation.
   Note: [Cancel] on this window is available only if either “FULL (Erase ON)” or “FULL (Erase OFF)” is selected as format type option. If “QUICK” is selected as format type option, this button is not available.
8. After the format operation completion, click [OK] and remove the Memory Card from your PC.
9. Reinsert the memory card to the PC to start using the memory card.

Using Mac Memory Card Format Tool

1. Plug your memory card reader into a USB port on your Mac. Insert the Micro SD/SDHC card / Micro SD/SDHC cardHC card into the memory card reader's Micro SD/SDHC card / Micro SD/SDHC cardHC slot, and the Micro SD/SDHC card / Micro SD/SDHC cardHC card will mount on your Mac desktop.
2. In an open Finder window, single-click "Applications" in the Side-Bar and scroll down to find the Utilities folder. Find Disk Utility in the Utilities folder and double-click the "Disk Utility" application to launch it.
3. In the opened Disk Utility application, single-click to select the Micro SD/SDHC card / Micro SD/SDHC cardHC card in the left-hand Drives column. Then, single-click to select the "Erase" button in the top row of radio buttons. Select the format MS-DOS (FAT) to format the Micro SD/SDHC card / Micro SD/SDHC cardHC card on the "Volume Format" pop-up button.  When you have finished selecting the formatting options, click "Erase."
4. A new dialogue box will pop up in "Disk Utility," asking if you are sure you wish to erase the Micro SD/SDHC card / Micro SD/SDHC cardHC card. Caution: Erasing the Micro SD/SDHC card / Micro SD/SDHC cardHC card will permanently erase any files. Make sure you have backed up any file you wish to keep. To continue with the formatting process, click "Erase."
5. Once the Micro SD/SDHC card / Micro SD/SDHC cardHC card has been erased, it will mount on your Mac desktop just as any other removable drive.

Supercard DSONEi Mini Firmware Fix for 3DS 3.0.0-5 & DSi / DSi XL 1.4.3

 

Important: if you want to update you DSONEi mini to be compatible with 3DS 3.0.0-5, you will need to use a DS Lite console or a DSi / DSi XL console with firmware version lower than 1.4.3 or 3DS with firmware version lower than 2.2.0-4 to do the update. Please take note, the firmware is different from the driver.

Please follow the simple upgrade guide to to the upgrade.

1. Unzip the file downloaded (using Winrar) on your PC

• Winrar can be downloaded from www.download.com by searching for Winrar at the Search.
• Unzip the files mentioned under the Software Preparation above, you will have:

dsoneimini_update_eng_3dsv2204	DSONE_mini_SDHC_Evolution_V1.0_eng_sp6_20110427
dsonei_update_eng.nds	_dsone readme_eng.txt SCFW.SC

2. Select all the above four unzipped files and simply drag them onto the root of the micro SD / SDHC card after you have formatted the SD / SDHC card in FAT 32.

3. Plug in the Micro SD / SDHC to the Supercard DSONEi Mini. Insert the Supercard DSONEi mini with the micro SD / SDHC into the slot 1 of the DS console. Turn on the DS console.

4. Select the “dsonei_upd” icon on the main operating system

5. When you see the following, please follow the instruction to press B to continue.

6. The following screen shows that the update has started. It will erase the data first before writing the data.

7. The following screen shows that the update has been completed. Congratulation! Restart your DS now.

8. Once the upgrade is done, the icon will change into the following one.

DSONEi Driver Setup Guide

1. Unzip the files downloaded (using Winrar) on your PC
   • Winrar can be downloaded from www.download.com by searching for Winrar at the Search.
   • Unzip the file DSONE_mini_SDHC_Evolution_V1.0_eng_sp6_20110427,  you will get:
     

     DSONE_mini_SDHC_Evolution_V1.0_eng_sp6_20110427

     _dsone SCFW.SC readme_eng.txt

2. Now copy the all the above three files to the root folder of the Micro SD /SDHC memory card.
3. Copy your own files, including music, movies, pictures and other data to the Micro SD/SDHC memory card.
    
4. Plug in the Micro SD/SDHC to the Supercard DSONEi. Insert the Supercard DSONEi with the microSD into the slot 1 of the DS console. Turn on the DS console.   
    
5. For DS & DS Lite,  you will see the WARNING – HEALTH AND SAFETY message. Touch the touch screen or press button A to continue.
   
    
6. Wait for a few seconds for the DSONE EOS to load.
    
    
7. Congratulation if you have come this far as you have successfully set up your Supercard DSONE. There you go. Enjoy your DS with the multimedia functions.

Please take note that the upgrade needs to be done on one of the following consoles:

5. Turn on your console; you will see the following icon below. Touch “START” to continue.

 

6. Please follow the steps below to upgrade your R4i SDHC 3DS card.

a. Choose “Config”

d. Wait a few minutes to complete the upgrading. And please do not turn off the power during the upgrade. Otherwise, it will brick your R4i SDHC 3DS card.

Kind reminder: 

When upgrading the r4i-sdhc card, it is not allowed to turn off power or pull out the card; otherwise the card will be damaged.

Please follow the simple steps below to carry out the update:

 

1. Format your micro sd card in FAT32 before the upgrade.

 

2. Download the latest kernel R4i-3DS V1.49b English.

 

3. Unzip the kernel and copy the four files (moonmemo, moonshl2, R4iMenu, R4.dat) to the root of MicroSD / SDHC card.

 

4. Insert MicroSD / SDHC card into R4i-SDHC 3DS card, insert R4i-SDHC 3DS card into Nintendo console 

 

Please take note that the upgrade needs to be done on one of the following consoles:

• 3DS with firmware version lower than 3.0.0-5E

9. If the screen is stuck with the ‘Loading’ message, it is due to the wrong driver being used. Please check the Software Preparation at the top of this guide and re-do the software download & installation.
