Cool Acekard 2 trick – Moonshell with AKAIO support!

Here’s an awesome trick you can try with your Acekard 2 (Sorry, AKRPG and 2i owners, this only works with the AK2). Just by renaming, copying and pasting a few files, you can make your Acekard boot into Moonshell (A DS media player), and load commercial ROMs from inside Moonshell using a modified version of Acekard All-in-One! Yay for M3 Sakura lookalike! Before you ask, this works with the phat DS aswell. Also, Giratina is going to eat Shaymin. Guide by Vampirex – gbatemp.net

so let me see if i got this right; i extracted only the akaioloader.nds file from the akaio loader i downloaded. is that right?
also, what is homebrew?!?! i’ve asked others, but no answer yet

@SherlockHolmeboy so i’m guessing i replace the akaio loader that comes with the firmware? because there was a file name already in there with the same name so i just replaced it. hmm…
@eaintx AKAIO 1.5 is the firmware, and the loader is a part of AKAIO. It’s what actually boots the DS games, and should be updated regularly for compatibility reasons. When you download the apprpriate loader, you should unzip the contents to “_aio(slash)loaders”. You can also update it through WiFi inside AKAIO, if you have WiFi (Start, More ->, Wifi update, Update Loader, Yes).

@eaintx It’s basically just an unofficial firmware for almost all Acekards (2, 2i, RPG and basic support for AK+), and has WAY better support for newer games than the official Acekard firmware. It looks exactly the same as AKMENU (the official firmware), you won’t notice any difference. Srsly, you’re better off using AKAIO, Acekard hasn’t released an update for thier official firmware since god-knows-how-long.
